Ian sent these pictures on 26 Aug 2007, along with the following notes:

Like yours, my foredeck kingplank has a downward curve, compatible with the sheer, as in the plans. (Well, it's really two straight bits, fore and aft of the forward hatch.)  I measured the crown of each beam from Iain's patterns and then drew the curves with that geometric construction shown in the Water Craft article, then checked them against Iain's patterns and they came out the same. My mast beams are tatajuba, carlins are recycled NZ kauri, and the rest is recycled Oregon pine (Douglas fir). My mast beam knees are the same as yours, and I have put another pair of short ones at the station 4 frame. The lower rubbing strake (not in the plans, but like your Tammie Norrie) is two laminations of tatajuba. The first layer had temporary screws, and the second layer is screwed and plugged. I modified my plywood planking clamps for each layer, and taped some old polythene sheeting around the paintwork when I glued them on. My next stage is to put a wire in for the stern light, which will be on the back of the rudder, and then put the deck on. Then I will paint and varnish the interior. The foredeck framing will be painted, like Alec's.
