Transducer mountings

This photo shows the transducer mountings. The port one has the impeller wheel for the speed and distance log, and the starboard one is the depth sounder.  The cables will lead around the back of the starboard bilge case and up to the "Navman 3100 Multi" instrument in that hole in the bulkhead.  The compass will be in the hole on the port side of the bulkhead.

Trailer

Here are some pictures of my trailer, made by Toko Trailers, of Milton, which is a small town about 45 minutes' drive south of here. (Toko is short for Tokomairiro, the name of the local creek.) I gave the builder copies of the profile and cross-section of the boat, Iain's drawing of the trolley-trailer for basic dimensions, and some photos of the trailer of Eun Bahn at Goolwa 2003, by Premier Trailers of Adelaide. I'm sure they won't mind. Today I have cut the bottom ends off the side support struts (and painted them), as they were a bit close to the ground after I had adjusted them to the correct height. I will probably have to shift the boat further back on the trailer later, which can be done as all the relevant parts are adjustable. As it is now, most of the lead ballast is forward of the wheels, and the motor and rudder are not installed. (I have made the parts for the rudder, but haven't put it together yet.) The blue rollers are a standard fitting for centring the boat, but I have angled them out more than they are designed for by taking one of the mounting bolts out from each side, so now there are two bolts on each side instead of three. I don't want them to hit the planking. I may adjust the angles again when I see how it (she) slides over them. So far we have just lowered the boat onto the trailer, from a sufficient height. The bilge plates are resting on the trailer side-supports. I am happy with the bilge plates and ballast arrangement, now that I have done it (Phew!), but I think you have a good alternative. By the way, I turned a fairly good radius in the lower ends of the skin-fittings, and angled the fittings in a bit, so they shouldn't chafe the control-lines. You can see that I have reshaped the part-bulkheads. The trim will be solid pieces of kwila, slotted on to the edges and carried right down to the floor at that point, with filler pieces in against the bilge-cases, so the cases will be well supported.
